The era of fixing artificial nails and buying human hair might be coming to an end for at least Nigerian women, because a more natural and quicker way to grow nails and hair has been discovered by a 70-year old woman in Akure, in Ondo State, Western Nigeria.
For over 10 years, Agnes Ogunyiluka a hairdresser from Idanre in Owena Local Government of Ondo State, was keeping to herself a discovery she made on how to grow nails and hair. She made the potion from natural herbs and applied to her customers at her hair-dressing salon in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Recently she decided to open up and immediately the Federal Government of Nigeria through one of the entrepreneurial skills promotion came to her aid, offered her a rent-free factory and today she has started producing for commercial use.
When the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) analysed her product, she was given a registration for her feat.
According to her, her product ensures rapid growth of hair, anti-dandruff and prevents hair from breaking or twisting. For the nail, the product ensures that nails grow naturally faster, even from fingers and toes where nails had been damaged by accident. The product prevents and cures whitlow. “if you have finger or tow where your nail had broken and could not grow again, just apply our product and you have your nail back”, she said.
Since the mini launching of these products in March, sales are on the rise, and distributors are clamouring to take over sole distributorship. She also had many good testimonies from users in USA, Germany and Ghana where sample products have been used.
